Yes! All of the products that we sell first download your factory program onto your new hand-held device. This device is now locked and can only be used on one vehicle, unless returned back to stock and reprogrammed. Your custom tune is then loaded from your SCT handheld device to your vehicles computer. At absolutely any time, you can plug the device back into the vehicle's OBDII diagnostic port, and select return to stock.

*Please make sure to store your XCal2, X3, or Livewire device in a safe area! Do not expose to extreme conditions. Inside your vehicle usually is fine, unless you live somewhere that climates are extreme.

Can the Dealership See That I Had a Custom Program?

No. The dealership will not see a custom program after you return the vehicle to stock. HOWEVER, the vehicle should be driven 50 miles or more so that your PCM has recorded memory. If you don't do this, the dealership still CANNOT prove you had a custom tune, however they might try and tell you they can. A common excuse is that you unplugged the battery cable while you went away for a week, and that's why the PCM has no memory.
