Will A Custom Tune Benefit Me Over Your Mail-Order Tuning?

Postby TillmanSpeed on Fri Jul 25, 2008 7:14 pm

Any vehicle will benefit over the assurance that their tune is 100% correct for THEIR SPECIFIC vehicle. However, lightly modified cars (ie. Cold Air Intake Only) do not REQUIRE a custom dyno tune. Our mail-order tunes have been tested in-house on our Dynojet 224xLC to ensure that every parameter is correct and your tune is completely optimized. Adaptive learning allows the PCM to adjust for altitude and climate. However, some extreme climates may want to have a local shop in the same condititions tune their vehicle.

If your, for example, 2005 Mustang GT is stock except for a C&L cold air intake; we have tuned plenty of S197 2005+ Mustang GT's with C&L cold air intakes. This means that we have the closest possible thing to an EXACT dyno tune available for you.

Most of our customers find that when they check their mail order tunes on the dyno, they need little to no adjustment at all! Most of the time it's spot-on and there's no power to be had elsewhere. Rest assured we always go about tuning safely, and efficiently.

Regardless, a custom dyno tune is about peace of mind knowing that your combination has been dyno tuned in person and all of your PCM's parameters are dialed in. From fuel trims, to timing, to wide open throttle air/fuel levels, a custom dyno tune from Tillman Speed will always be your best option.

HEAVILY MODIFIED VEHICLES will require an in-house CUSTOM DYNO TUNE in order to be correct. We have a few tunes for some of the popular supercharger/turbo/nitrous kits that we sell that we will mail order with the purchase of a kit. All others require on-site tuning!
